Second skin : Simone Bodennec & Camilla

In Second Skin, fabric wraps the face like a protective layer, becoming both garment and boundary. The material softens identity while framing expression, suggesting the emotional layers we carry between ourselves and the outside world. The series explores protection, intimacy, and the quiet space between visibility and concealment.

For this project, the sculptural form surrounding the face and neck was created by Simone Bodennec using circular pleated fabric elements assembled specifically for the shoot. Developed as an experimental styling piece, the structure blurs the boundary between garment and object, transforming textile into a second surface that both shields and reveals the subject.
