Infoxication is an editorial that explores controversial topics such as transhumanism and technological paranoia. Our main inspiration was Black Mirror by Charlie Brooker, specifically the episodes White Christmas and Men Against Fire. Each chapter, filled with both reality and fiction, reveals the worst side of humankind and how technology affects our everyday lives.
This is how the narrative was conceived, set in a decadent technological future. The main character attempts to become part of this technological world and finds herself in a dismal, hospital-like environment. A new character, portrayed as a pig, then proceeds to implant a chip in her brain, creating a series of new realities. In the end, she finds herself in limbo, unable to distinguish between reality and fiction.
Who are we digitally? Who are we physically? The desperate search for individuality through digital data, alongside the obsession with immortalisation through social media platforms such as Instagram, has created a digital community largely unaware that their lives are under constant surveillance. Human conditioning continues to evolve through technology, bringing a range of new social issues that need to be addressed.
