Egle Ellerman: Cells and Lines

Cells and Lines is a restrained and conceptually driven photography project that explores the relationship between the human form, natural structures and visual rhythm. Through close portraiture and careful framing, the series examines texture, repetition and contrast, creating imagery that feels both intimate and analytical.

Photographer Egle Ellerman demonstrates a precise and thoughtful approach to composition. Her use of light and shadow highlights the contours of the face and body, while organic elements such as reeds and netted materials introduce linear patterns that guide the viewer’s eye. The visual language remains consistent throughout the series, allowing each image to contribute to a cohesive narrative rather than functioning in isolation.

The treatment of skin and surface detail is handled with sensitivity and control. Ellerman avoids excess stylisation, instead allowing natural texture, markings and shadows to play an essential role in the images. This measured approach gives the work a quiet intensity and a sense of authenticity.

Model Anja Rudat Randrup delivers a controlled and introspective performance. Her stillness and subtle expression reinforce the project’s contemplative tone, enabling the visual elements to take precedence without diminishing emotional presence.

Together, the photographer and model have produced a refined and thoughtful body of work that balances conceptual clarity with visual subtlety.
