With this submission, we focus on hair as the central element, with each image built around shape, height and structure. Photographer and Retoucher Austin Robertson keeps the composition clean and consistent, allowing the detail in each look to remain clear across the series.

Across the editorial, Amanda Strachan, Sienna Hayes and Jennifer Jones bring a controlled stillness that allows the work by Hair and Makeup Artist Heather Werner to take the lead. The sculptural forms and intricate finishes remain the defining feature throughout. Styling from Designer Kata Mari supports this direction, adding texture and structure without distracting from the overall look.

As a submission, it presents a cohesive and well-executed concept, where each element is clearly considered and works together as a complete series.

Hair and Makeup Artist Heather Werner has been in the industry for fourteen years, specialising in avant-garde design. Drawing on her background in mechanical engineering, she creates elaborate and, at times, motorised headpieces that push editorial beauty beyond traditional boundaries.

In 2014, she founded Foundations Hair & Makeup in California, a hybrid salon and workshop space where she continues to develop her craft and inspire emerging artists to think outside conventional approaches.
