DOMESTIC RITUALS by LAUREAN EDWARD II

Set inside an old manor and its surrounding gardens, the series follows intimate and unexpected interactions between the protagonist and a series of animals and objects.

A goat held with tenderness, cats resting on the body, and a fish embraced almost ceremonially — gestures that transform ordinary moments into strange rituals of care and presence.

Through minimal styling and exaggerated gestures, the character moves between elegance and awkwardness, control and fragility.

Inspired by the observational honesty and raw visual language of Juergen Teller, the images intentionally embrace imperfection, humour, and discomfort.

Domestic Rituals presents a quiet narrative about tenderness, absurdity, and the intimate theatre of everyday life.
