BEYOND CREAMY STANDARDS BY ALEKSEI VELCH
I am a 16-year-old fashion photographer from Estonia. I made this photoshoot as an exclusive feature to prove that age does not matter in fashion; the only thing that matters is having the skills to build a team and make art.
In this photoshoot, I am speaking about how important it is to notice young talent and listen to new visions. The fashion industry is dying from creamy minimalism and people who are afraid to make mistakes. I hope that our new generation can change this in the future by bringing back fashion that is not afraid to speak and exist.
I usually prefer much darker and more experimental photoshoots, and most teenagers do too, because it reflects our lives, feelings, moods and all the hard things that are around us. I made the photoshoot look like high-fashion gothica, featuring Scandinavian vibes and custom-made pieces from a local designer.
My statement is to give new faces a place in the fashion world and change the creamy minimalism that is ruining it from my point of view. Teens can also make art.
