Cléa BOITAUD: The Sand Project

The Sand Project is a contemporary fashion photography editorial exploring tonal harmony through desert landscape, editorial styling, and group composition. Shot on location in a natural desert setting, the fashion editorial centres on nude, sand, and earth tones, allowing form, texture, and human connection to take precedence over visual spectacle. Each image contributes to a cohesive visual narrative, prioritising rhythm and continuity across the series.

The fashion photography is shaped by scale, spacing, and natural light, creating images that feel expansive while remaining grounded in intimacy. The placement of multiple figures within the frame introduces subtle tension and balance, reinforcing the relationship between environment and body without interrupting the editorial’s calm visual flow.

Editorial styling plays a key role in establishing cohesion between the garments and the landscape. Layered neutrals, soft tailoring, and fluid silhouettes echo the surrounding terrain while maintaining a clear fashion identity. The wardrobe choices feel intentional and considered, supporting movement and form rather than relying on statement detailing.

Makeup within the fashion editorial is minimal and refined, complementing natural skin tones and light without drawing focus away from composition. The approach enhances mood and presence while allowing the environment and group dynamic to remain central to the imagery.

Group composition anchors the fashion photography series, with the models bringing a composed physical presence that strengthens the dialogue between individuality and collectivity. Their shared positioning emphasises balance and connection, reinforcing the project’s focus on unity within shared space. Together, the team delivers an editorial that feels deliberate, visually cohesive, and quietly confident.
