Hurricane Heart: Kalina Schneider
This is a concept project inspired by Florida's constant battle with forces of nature. where the heat, humidity, swamp and hurricanes are part of life. We respect it, embrace it , fear and celebrate it. Fabric manipulation involving dying, smocking, melting and weaving were my main techniques. I used also Spanish moss which is native to south of the US and it's one of my favorite natural fiber to work with.
